Handelskongress Deutschland 2026 is the 24th edition of the congress the organiser calls Germany's largest retail event, held 18 to 19 November at the JW Marriott Hotel Berlin. Organised by Handelsverband Deutschland (HDE) e. V. with the EHI Retail Institute, it brings retail and consumer-goods leaders together for strategy content and networking under the motto "#BalancingRetail".
Day one, 18 November, opens at 09:00 with keynotes on the consumer climate, data and AI, and the new retail seal, followed by an IKEA Deutschland keynote and a political keynote from Bundesministerin Katherina Reiche. Parallel Strategieforen run 14:00 to 15:00 and 15:45 to 16:45, on longevity, loyalty, resilience, private label, retail media and healthy living. A reception runs 17:30 to 18:30, followed by the Deutscher Handelspreis gala from 18:30, with no published end time.
Day two, 19 November, opens again at 09:00 with keynotes from Bundesminister Dr Karsten Wildberger on the European Digital Identity Wallet and Bundestagsabgeordnete Dr Franziska Brantner, plus sessions on AI in HR and human-machine collaboration. Parallel Praxisforen run 12:00 to 12:45 and 12:45 to 13:30, on digitalisation, payment, inner-city retail and supply chain. The program closes with Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz's keynote and a 2027 outlook, ending 15:35.

Handelskongress Deutschland is a trade-only event: the Händler-Ticket is for retail-company employees, the Startup-Ticket for startup staff, and the Science-Ticket for research and public-sector staff. A Dienstleister-Ticket covers congress and gala access, and a Gala-Ticket admits only to the Deutscher Handelspreis evening on 18 November. The congress ticket includes both days, catering, coffee breaks and download access to released presentations.
