MEET is the OETHG's (Österreichische Theatertechnische Gesellschaft, Taubergasse 60, 1170 Vienna) trade fair and technical conference for event and stage technology, covering audio, video, lighting, rigging, stage construction and theatre equipment for people who plan, build and run stages and events. The 2026 edition runs 18 to 19 November at VIECON, Messeplatz 1, 1020 Vienna, Hall D. Three points stand out for 2026, all from the organiser's own site.
The venue now carries the official name VIECON, Vienna Congress & Convention Center, after the site's rebrand from Messe Wien. MEET's own pages still use both names. The 2026 edition states more than 80 exhibitors, compared with over 110 quoted for the 2024 edition, both figures published by the organiser on different pages of its own site. Registration is entirely online: a single ticket or a group form for up to ten people, with the ticket generated immediately after you submit it.
MEET 2026 runs Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 November, with the trade fair floor and lecture programme both open 10:00 to 18:00 and an opening ceremony at 10:00 on the first day. The technical conference, the Fachkongress, runs in two lecture halls, Vortragssaal 1 and Vortragssaal 2, with back to back talks on lighting, audio, video and network technology, virtual reality, media servers, rigging, stage technology, event safety, sustainability and training.
Named sessions on the published programme include a talk on the Cyber Resilience Act 2027 and its effect on plug and play equipment, a session on new education paths for event-technology professionals, one on tracking systems for every budget, and a look at rehearsing in virtual space with the Wiener Staatsoper. Thursday closes with Andreas Paller's talk "Wie die MEET mein Leben veränderte" (How MEET changed my life).
